Animated, action-packed fantasy adventure set in a post-apocalyptic
future where the human race has been destroyed by machines which
they themselves created. All that exists, aside from a number of
the machines, is a group of sapient rag dolls brought to life by a
scientist in the final days of humanity who stumble upon 9 (voiced
by Elijah Wood), another of their own kind. The group, consisting
of war veteran and leader 1 (Christopher Plummer), frail inventor 2
(Martin Landau), non-verbal twins 3 and 4, engineer 5 (John C
Reilly), vision-plagued artist 6 (Crispin Glover), brave fighter 7
(Jennifer Connelly), and dim but strong 8 (Fred Tatasciore),
welcome 9 in the hope that he can help them muster the courage to
battle the remaining machines and save what is left of the world.
Mia Wasikowska, Johnny Depp and Helena Bonham Carter reprise their
roles in this fantasy adventure sequel based on Lewis Carroll's
novel, directed by James Bobin and produced by Tim Burton. Alice
(Wasikowska) finds herself in a mysterious, alternate world after
going through a mirror and emerging on the other side of the glass.
While there she discovers that the Mad Hatter (Depp) is in danger
and that Wonderland could be turned into a wasteland by the evil
Time (Sacha Baron Cohen). As Alice tries to turn back time in order
to save her friend she once again comes face-to-face with the Red
Queen (Bonham Carter)... The film also stars Anne Hathaway as the
White Queen and Matt Lucas as Tweedledee and Tweedledum while the
voice cast includes Alan Rickman as the Caterpillar, Stephen Fry as
the Cheshire Cat and Michael Sheen as the White Rabbit.
Twenty-three illustrated gothic tales from the dark corridors of
the imagination of Tim Burton. Burton - the creative genius behind
Batman, Edward Scissorhands, Sleepy Hollow and Nightmare Before
Christmas, among others - now gives birth to a cast of gruesomely
sympathetic children: misunderstood outcasts who struggle to find
love and belonging in their cruel, cruel worlds. His lovingly lurid
illustrations evoke both the sweetness and tragedy of these
hopeful, yet hapless beings.

Tim Burton directs this biographical drama starring Christoph Waltz
and Amy Adams. The film follows the story of American artist
Margaret Keane (Adams), who, in the 1960s, allowed her husband
Walter (Waltz) to claim credit for her artwork, believing that a
female artist could not find success through painting. The Keanes
acquired huge amounts of wealth through Margaret's work and the
paintings were in high demand throughout their time living together
as husband and wife. However, when they later became separated,
Margaret announced to the world that she was in fact the true
author of the paintings, sparking a long-drawn-out legal battle
between her and her estranged husband... Adams won a Golden Globe
Award for her performance.

Sequel to Tim Burton's hugely successful 'Batman' (1989). Oswald
Cobblepot was abandoned by his parents as a baby. Thirty three
years later, bent on revenge, he returns to Gotham City as the
Penguin (Danny DeVito). First he begins a warped campaign to become
Mayor, helped by millionaire businessman Max Shreck (Christopher
Walken); next, he undertakes a mission to murder every first born
son in Gotham - a plan which will avenge his own beginnings.
Meanwhile, he has two adversaries to contend with: Catwoman
(Michelle Pfeiffer), the embittered ex-secretary of Max Shreck,
and, of course, the old caped crusader himself - Batman (Michael
Keaton).
Jack Skellington is the most important figure in Halloween Town and
for years he has delighted in organising macabre tricks and frights
for Halloween. But this year he doesn't feel right - there must be
more to life than scaring people? Then Jack stumbles upon a
cheerful, colourful place called Christmas Town and he knows what
he must do - he will bring Christmas to Halloween! This is the
first book written and illustrated by the incomparable visionary
Tim Burton.
Meet Jack Skellington, the spookiest skeleton in Halloweentown.
He's in charge of making Halloween the scariest holiday on earth -
and he's so good at it, it's boring. So when Jack discovers
Christmas town, he decides that the bright lights and twinkly trees
of the festive season are just what Halloween needs
From breathtaking stop-action animation to bittersweet modern fairy tales, filmmaker Tim Burton has become known for his unique visual brilliance -- witty and macabre at once. Now he gives birth to a cast of gruesomely sympathetic children -- misunderstood outcasts who struggle to find love and belonging in their cruel, cruel worlds. His lovingly lurid illustrations evoke both the sweetness and the tragedy of these dark yet simple beings -- hopeful, hapless heroes who appeal to the ugly outsider in all of us, and let us laugh at a world we have long left behind (mostly anyway).
Box set containing four films from the popular 'Batman' film
series. 'Batman' (1989) was the first big screen outing for Bob
Kane's caped crusader. The streets of Gotham City are no longer
safe for criminals, who are being picked off by a masked vigilante
in a rubber suit - dubbed 'Batman' by the press. Reporter Alexander
Knox (Robert Wuhl) teams with photographer Vicki Vale (Kim
Basinger) in an attempt to discover Batman's true identity - an
investigation which leads them to the door of mysterious
millioniare Bruce Wayne (Michael Keaton). Meanwhile, crime boss
Carl Grissom's (Jack Palance) attempt to rid himself of
untrustworthy henchman Jack Napier (Jack Nicholson) does not go
according to plan, and after emerging physically - and mentally -
disfigured from a vat of chemicals, Napier reinvents himself as the
psychotic Joker. In 'Batman Returns' (1992), Oswald Cobblepot was
abandoned by his parents as a baby. Thirty three years later, bent
on revenge, he returns to Gotham City as the Penguin (Danny
DeVito). First he begins a warped campaign to become Mayor, helped
by millionaire businessman Max Shreck (Christopher Walken); next,
he undertakes a mission to murder every first born son in Gotham -
a plan which will avenge his own beginnings. Meanwhile, he has two
adversaries to contend with: Catwoman (Michelle Pfeiffer), the
embittered ex-secretary of Max Shreck, and, of course, the old
caped crusader himself (Keaton). In 'Batman Forever' (1995), former
District Attorney Harvey Two-Face (Tommy Lee Jones) is terrorising
Gotham City, when a new villain appears on the scene - the Riddler
(Jim Carrey). Together they plot to discover Batman's (Val Kilmer)
identity, using a device which can probe the human mind. Meanwhile,
the caped crusader has been joined by Robin (Chris O'Donnell),
whose trapeze-artist family have recently been slain by Two-Face.
'Finally, in 'Batman and Robin' (1997), Batman (George Clooney) and
Robin (O'Donnell) have to stop the vengeful Mr Freeze (Arnold
Schwarzenegger) from taking over Gotham City by using his new ice
weapon. To make matters worse, the venomous Poison Ivy (Uma
Thurman) decides to join forces with Freeze, so making an almost
undefeatable double-whammy of a team. Luckily for the caped
crusader and his rebellious ward, they can team up with a new tough
and courageous new partner - Batgirl (Alicia Silverstone).
